Conservatives need not apply?

There’s a dust-up in Chatham County over booths at the Nov. 4 Pittsboro’s First Sunday event. Is the Chatham Conservative Voice the object of political and/or ideological discrimination? Decide for yourself. You’ll find Chatham County voting and candidate information here.

‘What a selfish group. For a while now, visitors to the fair have been presented with a friendly, uncomplicated outlook of the political matters they faced. Now the Chatham Conservative Voice is trying to make things confusing by throwing views in their faces that don’t coincide with those presented at other booths. All the harmony will be thrown out the window, and visitors will face the daunting and distressing task of critically comparing the competing claims. And we just can’t have people being put into that kind of uncomfortable position. So we just won’t have any political groups now. CCV had to spoil the party for everyone. Hmph!’

I know Heather, and I doubt that we have heard the last of this!

As far as I can tell, Chatham County is being overrun by liberals who are moving south from Chapel Hill, along with retirees from places like New Jersey. And to think, not long ago, Chatham used to be a normal North Carolina county…

I would like to point something out. I pride myself on being one of the most conservative folks in Chatham and I think Gene will back me on that for those of you who do not know me. I also consider Ms.  Fesperman a friend. There is zero chance she was keeping Cons out. She wanted no politics at all and then folks began forcing themselves in. She had no desire to be the center of this kind of issue.

I appreciate the efforts she and the other folks associated with her are making to keep downtown alive.

I assure you we would never vote for the same folks and we have no common ground on issues but she is fair and I am proud to call her friend.
