yeah I would not try that in the unlit woods at night with teenagers (possibly drinking) behind the wheel.  Your dad must have cajones of steel.

When you figure this out, please post it so I can tell all the people in Bennett who to call for the 4 wheelers that race up and down main street.  No helmets....girlfriend with no helmet on the back....just an accident waiting to happen.  Perhaps it is the lack of mufflers that has saved any of them from getting hurt so far.

if they are teens, then it is underaged drinking and where/whom are they acquiring that from J.? Don't be encouraging them to drink and drive please or to litter or "boys will be boys" tearing down safety barricades.
Besides, the residents on this road should be respected, they live there. "Hoods" in training need to move on.

ok let me tell it how it is. i live on the road. lived there my whole life. i have been going down there since i was little fishing. the gate was put back up a few weeks ago. i DO NOT know who tore the old cable down. the cable has been down for at least 3 years, way before my friends even started going fishing with me down there. we would drive the whole way down because my buddies window got busted out last summer for parking on the side of the road. and to be clear, everyone is over 21. nobody is drinking and driving trust me.  it really makes me mad that i have been going down there since i was little and now somebody wants to make a big deal about it and ASSUME that just becasue theres beer bottles on the ground and young people go down there that just means their drinking and driving and racing? if you want i will post my tag number to save you some trouble from hiding in the woods or jumping out in front of me to get it. i will also give you the wardens cell number that has been coming down there talking to us. its funny that since were drinking and driving as everyone on here says that nobody has ever gotten a ticket other then driving on gameland. i have already told everyone they need to watch out when leaving and not go fast because there is people complaining. its NOT illigal to go down there, its only illigal to drive past the gate. i know these guys proberly go fast on the road but they are not drinking. if someone is drinking everyone makes sure they dont drive. the black marks you seen by the stop sign was also done at 2am on a sat night..im not saying any names but i know who it was and what kind of car they did it in. there are NO big trucks or hardly anyone at all going by that late at night..what was it hurting?   nothing at all.  let me guess  they were drunk right? haha. or mabey this guy just ordered some new tires and wanted to have alittle fun before they came in. all these guys are not stupid enough to drink then drive home.

but mabey youve noticed now that nobody goes down there anymore? its becasue everytime a car goes by somebody calls the cops and we get hassled. we now go to another part of the lake. but i will continue to ride my 4wheeler around as i please..or would somebody surely die because of that?

i have talked to them, if they do come back down there , they know that the cops are in the area and to drive slow. before you jump to conclusions, how about you get to know the people going down there rather then accusing us of drinking and driving and racing. the fine is too high to race on the street anyway, thats why i dont do it. if racing is the problem how about we get the town on sanford to approve the permit to build the dragstrip back? this would stop alot of teens racing anywhere on the street

Thanks Jonny ....refreshing to hear truth about situations....just because young folks are involved doesn't mean they are breaking laws....appreciate your honesty.

but realistically, it does not hurt to let them know people are aware of their parties. and effected by them. this way they can be a good neighbors because they now know they are among neighbors. who know they are there.

Realistically ...you are right ...which is why it is refreshing to have a young person come on this board and tell the truth about the situation and I am sure he now understands there was a problem.....warden knew them

Vroom-vroom of teens on Tobacco Trail troubles Apex resident
June 28, 2008
Quote
Barone has been trying to lodge a complaint with the proper authorities, but she's unclear who that might be.
"It's like the Bermuda Triangle," said Barone, who has an Apex address but is a Chatham County resident. "The biggest problem is nobody will take responsibility."
