This post is partially in response to the questions that several of you raised on the BBS regarding WHY some of the posters here have such scathing reviews of our mayor. Well - let's just say that the man can't quite seem to get his... ahem... stuff together.
Some of you have asked why people don't strike up a conversation with the mayor about these issues? Many people have tried that and have gotten the run around, or have just simply been lied to about the "when, where, what, and why" of the developmental issues, false promises, and violations surrounding his development of Chatham Forest, including, but not limited to: What exactly is/was supposed to be on Park View Road, why did Voller spend Chatham Forest HOA monies to make improvements to a piece of private property that he owns, what are those DENR violations in Chatham Forest for, and why is he trying to make the residents and builders on Bellemont Rd. pay for his dad's company's sub-standard installation of the curb/gutter and 1st coat of pavement ?? And this BARELY scratches the surface.

Unfortunately, a link to the following news article is not available online. However, you can easily request the May 1st 2008 edition of the newspaper, where this article originally appeared, from the Pittsboro office of the Chatham News/Record in order to verify (Their office is located on the NW side of the traffic circle).
In an article titled
Chatham Forest Delays Cause Concern to Engineer written on page 16-B of the May 1, 2008 edition of the Chatham News/Record, reporter Bill Wilcox describes "delays on several projects in the Chatham Forest subdivision [that have] prompted a memorandum from Hydrostructures to Pittsboro commissioners".
(For those of you who do not know, Hydrostructures is the engineering firm contracted by the Town of Pittsboro to be the "eyes and ears" of the town, and to monitor all of the developmental activity and other infrastructure issues within the town.)
According to the memo given to the Pittsboro BOC by Hydrostructures, "there remain significant unapproved and non-compliant issues in the Park Access Road area, most notably for six unauthorized sewer services . . . there is not sufficient sewer allotment to allow for these services."
The article goes on to describe the Hydrostructures memo as stating that "delays in repairs for excessive settlement of the pavement on Bellemont Road have not been completed, " and that "the required repairs/replacement of curbs on Bellemont Road and Park Road have not been started and therefore finish pavement can not be applied . . . This situation should be monitored closely. . . Phase 9 sewer line addition has not been permitted by NPDES."
Bill Wilcox also writes that, "Voller said he plans to obtain the necessary permit and foresees no problem with his application being accepted.
But in a memo dated April 18 from Hydrostructures, it is stated that the flow has been introduced into Phase 5B and Phase 9 in a violation of the DWQ permit that requires that an Engineer's Certification be completed along with other documentation.
The memo states that apparently the entire project is in violation of DWQ permits and 'the State would consider these sections of infrastructure to be operating illegally."

This is an ON GOING saga regarding the issues that our illustrious mayor continues to ignore in the neighborhood of Chatham Forest that he developed (and where he lives). For example, see BOC minutes with Hydrostructures' memo attached from 6 months ago, dated November 28, 2007:
http://www.pittsboronc.org/boc/documents/BOCMInutesNov262007.pdf(Strangely enough, the memo from Hydrostructures for the April 28th BOC meeting mentioned in Bill Wilcox's article is NOT attached to the minutes online... Hmm... I wonder why?)
There have also been several other memos issued for the year 2007 by Hydrostructures regarding these issues - anybody can go to the Town of Pittsboro and ask to see them, and they are ALL PUBLIC RECORD. No baiting, no lying, no making up stories - just the "facts" that so many of you crave. GO SEE FOR YOURSELF.
Additionally, the Golden Fool on this BBS exonerates his highness the mayor from any wrongdoing while capping on Max Cotton (who I absolutely do NOT support, by the way), but the Golden Fool conveniently leaves out an explanation for the following DENR violations that the pristine and white-cloaked mayor brought upon himself. See documents for NC-DENR's Department of Water Quality Violations:
First, for a property in Cary in July of 2006, page 2 line 4,
http://www.enr.state.nc.us/novs/wq0706.pdfand again for Chatham Forest, page 2, line 8,
http://www.enr.state.nc.us/novs/wq0208.pdfSo while the mayor's troops assemble and refute that everyone is out to get him and lying, and while these same troops put up barricades to try to protect him, Mr. Voller is violating many local and state regulations in his OWN NEIGHBORHOOD that HE DEVELOPED – And all the while, he continues to give those residents a manipulative song and dance. AND IT'S ALL IN THE PUBLIC RECORD - Go to the Pittsboro Town Hall, and see for yourself.
