And why did the same aforementioned development/developer add additional lots to his development, all during a moratorium?
Simple - Voller Realty & Construction already had the sewer capacity for those lots paid for before the moratorium was passed.  (Voller wasn't even mayor when it passed.)

This is no different than Potterstone Village, Powell Place (both developments comparable in size to Chatham Forest) or Lowes, Carollina Brewery, Chatham Mills, the new McDonalds, KFC and others, which have all opened, or will open, or have opened new phases, after the Pittsboro moratorium was passed.

Really?  Not according to the town planner, town attorney, and town manager.  The lots in question were added after the fact and during the moratorium.  The town planner does not recall signing the plat, and stated clearly if he had, it would have been in violation of the town's moratorium.  The mayor insist he did, and now, in a letter to the HOA, says he had planned to "donate" the lot(s) to Pittsboro as greenspace.

The plot thickens.  This should be fun to watch unfold over the next few weeks, aye Linda.

So...is it signed or not...is this a forgery? Do we have a mystery, covert action, sneaking around behind the backs of the public officials...there is a good mystery book here just waiting to be written...anyone up for the challenge....it will be interesting how this unfolds on the continuing saga of As Pittsboro Turns. This is not good for the town.

No it's not good for the town.  But since birds of a feather seem to flock together, what would have happened if more Pittsboro Together candidates had been elected to the town board?  Thank goodness they didn't.

Now if we can just clean up the County.

Now if we can just clean up the County.

We did.  In the 2006 Democratic primary.

Now if we can just clean up the County.

Translation: now if we can just install another rubber-stamp BOC (Bumb will have served his real estate lobby masters well and can look forward to lining his own pockets).

Unless changed recently, Voller's lawyer is none other than the school board member and chairperson.  If Kathy Russell still is the chair and still is Voller's lawyer we are in deep trouble.  No wonder the school board gets criticized when you have such faulty advice to add lots no one in authority knows about.  Certainly he did not do it without legal advice.

Maybe she thinks having Voller as a client will keep money coming in for years to come, provided the checks don't bounce.

Where is Voller's itinerary posted?  He didn't send me one either so how, belle, was his public to know of his travels?  A slow down in seeing him saunter down Thompson Street or more instances of do nothingism?

How will we know when he gets back to town so we can unshrivel?  Will he raise a flag at Town Hall?  Will a school band march down 64 from the courthouse to the town hall?  Will there be another star in the east?  Do tell.

Hey Belle, the folks on this thread like to delete their posts. Especially the one where they said that the Mayor would have to answer a lot of questions when he got back....I guess they thought no one was paying attention...and wanted to make YOU look foolish but that ain't goin' happen captain....Something more than the Mayors Life is wrong here... like when they knew the Mayors wife didn't pay her car tax on time....you know this really goes beyond small town politics, some folks just do not have enough to do.....if all they can do is fixate on the mayor and his family. I found your earlier post with the points very good and answers questions asked...I guess just not the answers some folks want to hear.

Actually, I posted Voller is out town in another thread, not this one.

Not being a towny I have no dog in this fight.  Heck, I didn't even remember that Voller was part of the development in question when the thread started.

But please explain to me why it matters whether the Mayor is in or out of town when he and his business concerns are discussed?  Just askin'.

What kind of old-fashioned 20th century attitude is this?   A person is off limits on the BBS because s/he is "out of town"?   Gimme a break.

If Hizzoner cares and participates in this bulletin board, he can most certainly check in now and then from wherever he is.  It may be a bit more "inconvenient" but by no means impossible.  I keep abreast of our happy little group while cruising the oceans of the world as well as while down at Myrtle Beach.

C'mon, belle, you can put up a better "defense" than that!

There is some serious stuff here.  If the grand pooh bah of our little town did or allowed such things to happen, who could investigate this?  And don't tell me our own brand of Mayberry police or the county sheriff.
