Guess I am from old Chatham Co. and don't have a clue where the "Park's" is or what it would be a short cut to.

I've lived in Chatham 10 years, and know some of the references -- but some I don't. Nice succinct window on local history/culture, though.

MamaCash, loved your list. Hate when that Drive-In closed too.
1. You know you're from Chatham when you remember when Siler had one Byrd's (and it had frozen lobster-I still miss that!) 2. Your kids went to the original Silk Hope school (I understand the gym is still old and dangerous). 3. The old Mt. Vernon Springs hotel was still standing. 4. Chatham had those green boxes scattered all about (the recycling centers are a vast improvement).

The Curtis Drive in Theater. Where we first saw Alfred Hitchcock's "The Bird's" and all of us were too scared to get out of the car at the intermission/break to go get any popcorn and soda! Not thinking that the birds had gone to roost already in the reality of the dark we stayed hungry and thirsty! A really neat thing to go see, is the photo displays at the Chatham Photo Club exhibit of lots of the old times of Siler/Chatham.

I guess it's a local thing. Parks is a very upscale huge development that alot of folks didn't like seeing biult. It's a short cut from Old Grham to 87 if your north

You know I would love to hear from other parts of the county....I can only speak to what I know...so if someone from the central, eastern part of Chatham County would post then we could all enjoy their input...why be negative?

opinion or not, that's pretty negative. If you would like to offer some inside jokes from other parts of the county, have at it!

That's not negative, though, right? That's just an opinion?
I'm sure I do post lots of negative things, but I didn't make a claim to the contrary. I do enjoy discussing things and offering my opinion.
I'm sorry you're such an angry person. Try to cheer up.

I get angry when people like you think you know everything and your opinion is the right opinion...I don't have the problem...you do with your worthless life that you feel you have to continuously stay on this bb board to answer to everything everyone post too....look in the mirror...and I am a very happy person...see what I mean..if you don't like my opinions..you post negative...

PJJ .. I am the one who asked why be negative, I can't give any quips and antedotes about parts of the county I do not come from....If you have a problem with what is said on the thread then say something about the area you live in so we can all enjoy what is supposed to be a fun thread....now you have turned it into another b*t*h session from you guys who just want to be negative and expect the rest of us to entertain you.

I realize you called it negative...but you don't do it always...I'm not bitching...I just voiced my opinion and you all went nuts...sorry if I don't agree with all of you all of the time...thats not who I am.
