We are looking for volunteers to help with the 1st annual Jordan Lake Arts & Music Festival (
www.jordanlakeartsandmusic.org), which will take place October 4th and 5th. The purpose of our festival is to promote local musicians, artists, performers, and craftsman as well as raise money for the Clean Up Jordan lake project. We are featuring 20 bands, 5 stages, local food and artists, all set on a scenic 20 acre farm. If you're interested in helping, please come to an informational meeting Saturday, August 9th, at 12 noon at Jordan Lake Farm (1226 Martha’s Chapel Road, Apex, NC 27523).
This will be the second of 3 meetings before the festival, the last meeting will be held in September. Please come and find out what you can do to help and sign up for spots at the festival. Contact us at

We have positions available in administration, PR, sponsorship, general, and during the festival actives. If you have experience in these areas, or would like to gain experience, this is a great opportunity. Skills needed for these positions include eagerness to make connections in the local arts communities, ability to work independently, ability to work efficiently under stress, organization, and a sense of humor.
Publicity & Marketing:
-Distribute publicity materials
-Flyering and hanging up posters
Sponsorship:
-Help in soliciting local businesses for their involvement
General:
-Taking notes during volunteer meetings
-Posting messages on the yahoo group and craigslist if nessacary
-Deliver and pick up food donations and other materials
-Assist with mailing out the break down, line up, load-in times, and venue info for bands and vendors
During the Festival:
-Assist with set up of: vendor tents
sign placement
trash and recycling receptacles
stage and sound equipment
children’s activities
dance floor
-Stage management
-photograph performances during the festival
-film performances during the festival
-help administer children’s activities
-ticket booth
-merchandise booth
-refreshment table
-trash and recycling patrol
-band support
-and anything else that comes up, basically
