I don't know Mr. Estill, but sorry to here about his brother also. I know alot of folks that have the Diesel oil burning engine that run off restaurant oil they'd pick up directly from the restaurants and put directly into there tanks, guess there's going to be a shortage of free restaurant oil these days

How is the government taxing the french fry burners? Are they paying road fuel taxes? If not they are violating a Federal law.

I'm not entirely sure why but I believe most of the biodiesel being produced at Piedmont Biofuels is being shipped overseas for use in Europe.
I heard Lyle speak at Wake-up Wednesday, and he did say much of their production is shipped overseas. On the one hand, he was happy to have the market which allows his business to grow, but on the other hand, at some point when biodiesel is shipped that far, it stops being "green". He also said one of the things they were looking to develop were small "package" biodiesel production units, that could be used by a small group to produce the fuel they need locally. I think that's a great idea.

My sympathies to the Estill family. But how does a discussion about biofuel contamination make someone a hater?

Can the Swiss cut the cheese?
Great! That's all we need more biohazards in this county. Did Dr. Estill ever pay the $10,00 fine for his biopollution?
Discussing the incident is one thing, FINE! Do it, if you like. But, obviously, you're personally attacking Lyle and his credibility by poking fun at the Dr. title. and making the "cutting the cheese" remarks. If you don't like the guy and what he stands for, than say it, or just stick to discussing biofuels and contamination. I have been honest with you about what I think of your dislike of anything progressive or left-of-center. No need to be cryptic and make attempts at being humorous or clever. Just be the rear end you are. That's what we have all grown accustomed to.

In fact, he hasn't said anything as bad as some of the things you've posted. You have the option of getting thicker skin or leaving. Exercise one of them. After all, we put up with your nonsense and you have been singled out as one of the (if not the) nastiest person on the board. Even some of the left of center crowd have said you cross the line. My sympathies to Mr. Estill.

Tell us. What does Dr. Lyle stand for?
Lyle believes in sustainability. Simply put, he thinks that we should strive toward getting the same amount of energy out of something as we put into it. That's not a difficult philosophy to understand. Piedmont Biofuels is not an ethanol distillery. They don't buy up energy deficit crops that could be used for food. They take waste products like chicken grease and used fryer oil and turn it into fuel. Lyle and the folks at Piedmont Biofuels also design and build biodiesel reactors in North Carolina and beyond. They do good work. Before you continue your internet witch hunt, swing by the plant. I'm sure they'd be willing to give you a tour of the plant and explain the work they do.
