I just received this link from our Town Commissioner Chris Walker.  Fellow Commissioner and longtime pilot Clinton Bryan III is "ok" after some quick thinking and deft flying of his airplane this afternoon. According to our longtime Town Clerk, Alice Lloyd, the excitement was captured on film.

We are all thankful that Clint is fine.

Best Regards,

Mayor Randy Voller

What an amazing story.  I am glad he is okay, and Clint too!

Here is the photo taken by the Sanford Herald photographer. I think it is clear
from the photo that he is o.k. His ears are perked up and he is wagging his tail...and
Clint looks fine, too.

Quote
A veteran pilot of 35 years, Bryan said he circled the airport for about three hours to burn off most of his fuel before attempting a landing shortly before noon.

You know that has to have been the most nerve-wracking three hours of his life.

Saw a film blip on national news this AM. Hit pretty hard on the landing, I'm surprised the plane didn't break apart. I'd be headed straight to the restroom myself! Glad no injuries (other than the plane).

Wow. That's a sure sign of a VERY good pilot. Mr. Bryan, you've earned some bragging rights.
